MISTLETOE
Spiritual Meaning:
Mistletoe represents the Essence of Life. In myth it was used to kill Baldur the Norse god of peace. Thought by the Druids to be an ‘in between’, or a gateway to other worlds, it is a divine healing substance.
Psychological / Emotional Perspective:
As a parasite, mistletoe has the ability to draw strength from its host, but also to be useful in its own right. It can, therefore, symbolize relationships where there is a dependency on one partner. It is said that mistletoe takes on some of its hosts’characteristics, apple-grown mistletoe being different to oak-grown.
Everyday Material Aspects:
In mundane terms mistletoe obviously is most often dreamt of around Christmas. Conventionally, mistletoe represents a time of celebration, love and partnership. To dream of kissing under the mistletoe symbolizes a relationship that may be transitory.
