Spiritually the quartet – a set of four similar things considered as one object – links with the Quaternity, which signifies manifestation on the physical plane. The Quaternity, from a theological perspective, is the Holy Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Ghost – plus the feminine principle of Wisdom.
